Kristene Manning

Office Manager

Kris Manning has been the office manager at the Small Business Development Center since 1999. Kris joined USF in 1996 and worked with the Continuing Education Department as an accountant before coming to the SBDC. She received her Associate of Science degree from Hillsborough Community College in 1992 and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science degree from University of South Florida. Kris and her husband raise organic beef in Plant City.

Jessica Summers

Marketing Specialist

Summers’ expertise in developing story angles and securing news coverage comes from her work at Pitch Inc., a national publicity agency, where she built relationships with reporters, producers, and bloggers. She has secured hundreds of news placements for clients in local and national broadcast, print and Internet outlets, spanning entertainment, health, education and nonprofit sectors.

She brings diverse experience from Tampa nonprofits, where she spearheaded social media initiatives, secured fundraising sponsors and collaborated with government agencies and business leaders to foster community support. As a skilled writing specialist and reporter, she has published newspaper features and authored grants, speeches, blogs and marketing materials encouraging volunteer efforts. Additionally, Summers coordinated Web, print, and community event campaigns while she worked at one of the largest advertising agencies in the country.

Summers holds a B.A. in Mass Communications with a specialization in public relations from the University of South Florida.
