What is PTAC?
PTAC stands for Procurement & Technical Assistance Center. The Procurement & Technical Assistance Centers in Florida help Florida businesses with the process of obtaining contracts with state organizations like Department of Defense, other federal agencies, schools, and state/ local government agencies, as well as participating prime contractors.
About PTAC in Florida – FPTAC
The Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center (FPTAC) program which serves as a Technical Procurement Assistance Center (PTAC), is funded in part through a cooperative agreement from the Department of Defense (DOD) through a program that is administered by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The content of any written materials or verbal communications of the PTAC does not necessarily reflect the official views of or imply endorsement by DOD or DLA.” PTAC specialists can be found in five SBDCs in the state of Florida, with Tampa being one of them. PTAC’s “Business with the Government” Consulting
Counseling is provided free of charge to any Florida firm. Fees may be charged for special services and/or workshops. The purpose of the FPTAC is to educate businesses on government polices, generate sales and jobs for Florida businesses and to improve the business climate and economic development in Florida. Counseling services include the following: Bid/Proposal Preparation, Basic Training conferences, Marketing, Contract Administration, Pre-award Surveys, Quality Assurance Program, Special Training Programs, Federal supply Schedule Solutions, and 8(a), SDB and MBE Certifications.
