Florida Physicians will see significant cuts in Medicare Reimbursements Unless ?The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act? is passed.
Medicare is expected to cut health care providers reimbursement by 21.2% on May 31st. If you are a specialty physician with a significant Medicare payor mix, you may incur the brunt of these cuts. Your only reprieve is a pending House Bill, “The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010″ which may stall these cuts. ?H.R. 4213 would also include the “doc fix” to prevent a scheduled cut in Medicare payments to physicians?
What?s the long-tem lesson to be learned? It is likely Revenues for Florida health care practices will decline. Providers located in communities with significant elderly patients must see more patients each day to sustain current compensation levels for both the physician and their employees.
Also, include in this proposed legislation are extenders to unemployment compensation and the COBRA benefit for unemployed as well as another modification to the tax code. Read More; http://www.gop.gov/bill/111/2/hr4213amendments
