Two experienced gymnasts had a passion to own a gymnastic school when the right time and location became available. This husband and wife (Shelli and Anthony Tatro) team kept their dream on hold while they worked in professional positions in other industries. Thus the dream became a passion and finally a reality when Bayside Gymnastics and Cheerleading in Clearwater became available for purchase in mid 2008, creating an opportunity for this young couple to get back into the industry. As clients of the Small Business Development Center at the University of South Florida, they attended counseling and the monthly Small Business Networking Breakfast on a regular basis.
Bayside Gymnastics and Cheerleading needed a new business model so they immediately started to look for who is providing the best gymnastics and cheerleading school in the nation. The Tatro?s found the best and since then, they have focused on how to bring to the market place the ?best of the best gymnastic and cheerleading program into the Tampa Bay Area?.
The company also has a new tag line; ?Growing Happy Healthy Children? to help create a branding image for their company. The new ownership team along with their staff increased the student enrollment to three times the previous enrollment. While increasing the enrollment, they took the business from unprofitable to breaking even within a three month period. Now, they are working on building a strong profitable business.
Business has been exceeding all expectations and the Tatro?s are wondering if the current facility will be large enough to accommodate the rapid growth. Bayside offers a great variety of classes in a safe and fun environment so there is something for everyone!
The love for gymnastics and the desire to provide the best program is evident in everything they have done from a highly qualified staff to the spacious, well-equipped facility. Additionally, the staff will promote the pursuit of excellence through the development of friendships, self-confidence and a competitive spirit. At Bayside Gymnastics, their goal is to make gymnastics fun!
Safety is always first, and challenging the individual child is always important. The instructors give every child the careful attention they deserve. No child will ever be turned away from competitive team due to age, height or body style.
